Whiskers lived to be 17 years old. Born in Wilmington NC, and adopted from a family friend as a kitten. She never really became a "people kitty" and preferred the company of an empty cardboard box instead.
She died on July 10,1999 from a stroke due to old age. Nearly one year exactly before her sister Hanna. They are buried in the same backyard, Whiskers in her favorite box.
