Had him for five years, never thought a bird could have that much personality, and be that much fun to play with and see in action. He was with me in 2 different homes, each one was there to keep him warm and happy. He would hang from the ceiling upside down for fun, and would land on my shoulder and nibble on my ears. Last Sunday, he flew scared into a bay window, which crippled him.
The vet said that only tender loving care could help him. We kept him so warm, fed him baby food and even played Enya at low volumes just to soothe him. I prayed to God each night that he be taken to a higher place if he were in pain. Although he seemed to get slightly better, he was no longer meant for this world. This was more than a pet bird, Julius was very close to me, close to my heart. I hope now that wherever he is, his spirit can fly anywhere it wants to.
Goodbye Julius, I will always love you very much.
