I lost my Rough Collie, Tristan on 17th February 2009, and I still find it so hard to come to terms with. He had been by my side through so many personal tragedy's, and without him, I very much doubt that I would be here today.
I got myself a rescue Collie, Freddie, in June 2008, and although he can never replace Tristan, he has been a great source of comfort to me. They are alike but not alike. Tris was always the quiet gentleman type, always by my side, or under my feet :) He lay at my feet when I was reading, or watching TV. Freddie has to be on my lap or leaning against.
I realise as I write this, just how privilidged I was to have had Tristan, and just how much he gave me, yet asked for so little back. I just wish that our beloved pets were with us for longer.
